ODM treasurer Timothy Bosire yesterday dismissed claims Cord is exploiting the teachers’ strike to solicit campaign funds for 2017.
But 40 Jubilee MPs on Thursday faulted the opposition fundraiser, terming it a desperate strategy by Cord principals to raise campaign money.
Bosire who is also the Kitutu Masaba MP, said the opposition is genuinely trying to help teachers get their daily bread.
“We are giving them additional arsenal to go for the long haul in their push for more resources. We are not paying teachers salaries,” the MP told the Star on the phone.
On Wednesday at Uhuru Park, Cord leaders launched an M-Pesa pay bill number-672672-for Kenyans to contribute money to pay teachers.
