INFORMATION ON CLOSURE OF MAJOR ROADS DURING THE VISIT OF HON. BARRACK OBAMA
PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA
Nairobi, June 30, 2015
Due to the upcoming visit of the Honourable Barrack Obama President of the United States of America the Traffic Department would like to inform the General Public of the closure of Mombasa road and sections of its feeder roads.
We Kindly Advise All Citizens To Plan Accordingly.
ROADS:
FRIDAY 24TH JULY 2015
Roads close from Friday 24th July at 08.00am to Sunday, 27th July at 2.00 pm
Roads affected include:
• Uhuru Highway - Bunyala Roundabout to University Way roundabout through to State House Road and adjoining areas to Westlands
• Haile Selassie Road - Uhuru H/way roundabout to Uhuru Park entrance
• Uhuru Park - Haile Selassie Rd to Kenyatta Avenue
• Kenyatta Avenue - Uhuru H/way roundabout to Kimathi Street
• Harambee Avenue - Uhuru H/way Junction to Lt. Tumbo Road
• Haile Selassie Road - Uhuru H/way roundabout to Railway Station roundabout
• Mombasa Road - Nyayo Stadium roundabout to Enterprise Road
• Langata Road - Nyayo Stadium roundabout to Madaraka (Nbi South ‘C’) roundabout
This roads will be closed to ALL vehicles including Police and Emergency vehicles except those with Category 1A* Clearance
AIRPORTS:
The following Airports will also be closed as further set out below:
1. Jomo Kenyatta International
Airport
2. Moi International Airport
3. Wilson Airport
4. Kisumu International Airport
5. Eldoret International Airport
Flight Schedule:
All flights to and from Kenyan airspace will be banned for 72 hours before and 12 hours after the departure of the American President.
Category 1 Aircraft will need to get clearance from KAA 7 days before the President arrives.
