President Uhuru Kenyatta has been voted the best African president by the Africa Education and Leadership 2014 Award from the All-Africa students Union (AASU). There are many reasons why he won the award but they say a picture is worth a thousand word;

1. President Uhuru Kenyatta is loved by many and he has gone as far as winning the hearts of children.

This girl was in tears as she watched Uhuru’s convoy leave Machakos after he attended the launch of the Last Mile Connectivity Project and commissioning of the National Schools Electrification Project.

The president told the security to allow the girl to come closer and he later hosted the girl in State House.

 2. On that very day, the president passed by a Kiosk in Machakos town and bought himself a soda to quench his thirst.

This was a show of support to small businesses in Kenya.

 4. Remember the painful Garissa University that left 148 students dead?

President Uhuru took time to personally write consolation letters to the parents and relatives and also gave Sh. 100,000 to each family for the funeral arrangements.

 5. Ahaa! On Friday June 26, President Uhuru was at Illaiserr Manyatta in Kajiado County attending the ordination of Kupere Ole Metui as the Iltuati Age Group Leader.

Here, Uhuru joined the Maasai warriors and enjoyed some Nyamachoma.

Dining with the president is considered a rare thing but Uhuru made it easier to the Maasai as he sat down and dined with them while they chatted.
