Find Out Siaya County Plans Ahead Of President Barack Obama Visit
Siaya county residents expects president Barack Obama to visit the region when he jets in Nairobi on July 26, 2015 ahead of the the Global Entrepreneurship Conference.
On Wednesday, July 2, 2015, mama Sarah Obama joined and Cornel Rasanga the governor of Siaya County jetted out to attend the American Independence Day Celebrations on July 4, 2015 and also persuade the US president to pay a visit to his ancestral home.
Should the deal go through, it is expected that all the focus will turn to Kogello. Siaya county government have lined up several projects ahead of the much anticipated visit.
The county launched the programmed dubbed, ‘Destinations Siaya Kababa 2015′ on Wednesday, July 2, 2015. The initiative targets to explore the Sports, Culture, Investment and Tourism expo to lure investors into the region.
During the event, Pamela Akello, the director of Sports, Culture and Education Executive, Siaya county revealed that if the expo event is organized then the region will benefit economically.
She called upon the local residents to register for various events.
“We are encouraging people to register for the half marathon. With that we will be able to identify and nurture local talent,” Akello is quoted by the Standard.

Through the various programmes, the region will demonstrate to potential investors the areas that they can tap to boost economic development.
The rugby tournament branded as Obama sevens will commence on July 21 to July 2015 at Jaramogi Oginga Odinga university. While the half marathon will kick off on August 8, 2015 along Lake Kanyaboli.
